Tyrosine + metformin is a combination of the non-essential amino acid L-tyrosine and the biguanide antihyperglycemic agent metformin. Metformin is a first-line pharmaceutical treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus that works by decreasing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization.
