Overview

Ubamatamab + bevacizumab is an investigational combination therapy being evaluated in clinical trials for advanced ovarian cancer, especially in platinum-resistant or recurrent disease. Ubamatamab (REGN4018) is a bispecific monoclonal antibody that targets both MUC16 (mucin 16, a tumor-associated antigen highly expressed in ovarian cancer) and CD3 (on T cells). By bringing T cells in proximity to tumor cells expressing MUC16, ubamatamab is designed to promote T cell–mediated cytotoxicity against the cancer. Bevacizumab (Avastin) is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that binds to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor vascularization. The combination aims to leverage ubamatamab's immune-directed killing with bevacizumab's anti-angiogenic effects to improve anti-tumor activity in ovarian and related cancers. The combination is developed and trialed by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, with clinical trials including additional arms for comparisons with other agents such as cemiplimab or chemotherapy[5][7].
