Overview

UCAR-T cells (QH-XZ-02) is an investigational universal allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy that simultaneously targets B-lymphocyte antigen CD19 and B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). Developed by The Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University, this therapy is being evaluated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory autoimmune diseases, specifically systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and systemic sclerosis (SSc). As an allogeneic 'off-the-shelf' product, it utilizes T cells from healthy donors that are engineered to express CARs against both B-cell and plasma cell antigens. This dual-targeting approach is intended to achieve a more comprehensive depletion of the pathogenic B-cell lineage, potentially resetting the immune system in patients with severe autoimmune conditions. The therapy is typically administered following a lymphodepletion regimen consisting of cyclophosphamide and fludarabine.
