Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UCPVax + nivolumab is a combination therapy under investigation for cancer treatment. UCPVax is a therapeutic cancer vaccine designed to stimulate the immune system against telomerase, an enzyme commonly overexpressed in tumor cells. Nivolumab is a fully human IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed death-1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor. By blocking PD-1, nivolumab prevents tumor cells from evading immune detection and enhances T-cell-mediated anti-tumor activity[1][5][6]. The combination aims to synergistically boost anti-tumor immunity by both priming T cells with UCPVax and preventing their inhibition with nivolumab.
