Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell + conditioned medium is a combination biologic therapy consisting of allogenic mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) isolated from umbilical cord tissue and the conditioned medium (CM) in which they were cultured. The conditioned medium contains a secretome of growth factors and cytokines, including IL-6, VEGF, angiogenin, and IGF-1, which provide immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative effects. This therapy is being investigated for multiple clinical applications, including retinitis pigmentosa, keloids, and neurodegenerative conditions, leveraging both the cellular activity of the MSCs and the paracrine signaling factors in the medium to promote tissue repair and reduce inflammation.
