Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) + bone marrow mononuclear cells (BM-MNCs) is a combination cell therapy investigated for its synergistic regenerative and immunomodulatory effects. UC-MSCs are multipotent cells known for secreting a wide array of neurotrophic factors (such as BDNF and NGF) and anti-inflammatory cytokines, which help modulate the immune response and support tissue repair. This combination is primarily developed by academic and clinical institutions, such as the General Hospital of Chinese People's Armed Police Forces, for the treatment of spinal cord injury, liver cirrhosis, and autoimmune conditions. The therapeutic rationale suggests that the co-administration of these two cell populations enhances the survival and efficacy of the transplanted cells compared to monotherapy.
