Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is an investigational cell therapy consisting of allogeneic umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) developed by Peking University People's Hospital. It is specifically being developed for the treatment of steroid-resistant acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD), a severe complication following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The therapy works through immunomodulatory mechanisms, including the suppression of pro-inflammatory T-cell responses and the enhancement of immune tolerance. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial (often in combination with basiliximab) to establish its efficacy and safety as a salvage therapy for patients who do not respond to standard corticosteroid treatment.
