Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Suhuan (umeclidinium bromide/vilanterol trifenatate) is an inhaled dry powder formulation combining umeclidinium bromide, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA), and vilanterol trifenatate, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA). Developed by Chia Tai Tianqing (a subsidiary of Sino Biopharmaceutical), Suhuan is approved in China as the first domestic generic of GSK's Anoro Ellipta for the long-term maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The drug is delivered via Singmed's Shumaitian multi-dose blister dry powder inhaler (DPI), which demonstrated therapeutic equivalence to the reference Ellipta device in a head-to-head Phase III clinical trial.
