Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Urea + glycerol cream is a topical combination product formulated to treat dry, rough, or hyperkeratotic skin conditions. Urea acts as a keratolytic and humectant, gently dissolving the intercellular matrix of the stratum corneum to promote exfoliation and softening of thickened skin. Glycerol (glycerin) is a potent humectant that draws water into the outer layer of the skin, enhancing hydration and improving barrier function. Together, these ingredients are used for conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, xerosis (dry skin), ichthyosis, dermatitis, keratosis pilaris, corns and calluses. The combination increases moisture retention in the epidermis while promoting gentle removal of dead or scaly skin cells[1][2][4].
