URLC10 + VEGFR1 is a combination peptide vaccine therapy composed of two synthetic peptides derived from tumor-associated antigens. The first component, the URLC10 peptide (also known as RYCNLEGPPI), is a cancer-testis antigen highly expressed in gastric cancers. The second component, the VEGFR1 peptide (also known as SYGVLLWEIF or "VEGFR1-1084"), targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR1), an important mediator of tumor angiogenesis. Both peptides are HLA-A*2402-restricted epitopes and are designed to stimulate cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses against cancer cells expressing these antigens. This combination has been investigated primarily as a therapeutic cancer vaccine for patients with advanced or chemotherapy-resistant gastric cancer. In clinical studies, the peptides were administered subcutaneously in incomplete Freund’s adjuvant on a weekly schedule within 28-day cycles. The primary mechanism involves immune-mediated targeting of tumor cells expressing URLC10 and inhibition of angiogenesis via immune response against VEGFR1-expressing cells[1][2][3].
