Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AD-230 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by Addpharma (a subsidiary of Yuhan Corporation) for the treatment of chronic liver disease. It consists of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring bile acid that improves bile flow and protects liver cells from toxic bile acids, and biphenyl dimethyl dicarboxylate (BDD), a synthetic derivative of schisandrin C that helps reduce elevated liver enzyme levels (ALT/AST) and provides hepatoprotective effects. The combination is designed to provide synergistic benefits in managing liver function in patients with chronic hepatitis or other chronic liver conditions. AD-230 was approved in South Korea in 2021 under the brand name Uridic.
