UVAX-1107 + UVAX-1197 is a combination of two investigational HIV-1 vaccine candidates developed by Uvax Bio. These vaccines are protein-based nanoparticle biologics utilizing the proprietary 1c-SApNP (single-component self-assembling protein nanoparticle) platform technology. Each nanoparticle displays 20 copies of uncleaved, prefusion-optimized (UFO) HIV-1 envelope (Env) trimers. UVAX-1197 features a wild-type glycan shield, while UVAX-1107 employs glycan-trimming technology to remove specific glycans, thereby exposing conserved neutralizing epitopes on the HIV-1 Env protein. The combination is designed for active immunization to prevent HIV-1 infection and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials in Australia, administered with CpG 1018 and aluminum hydroxide adjuvants to enhance the immunological response.
