**Valacyclovir + celecoxib** is a proprietary oral fixed-dose small-molecule combination developed as IMC-2 for Long COVID. Valacyclovir is converted to acyclovir, which is activated preferentially in herpesvirus-infected cells and inhibits herpesvirus DNA polymerase; celecoxib selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 to reduce prostaglandin-mediated inflammation. The development rationale is to suppress putative herpesvirus reactivation while addressing inflammatory symptoms associated with Long COVID. Virios advanced IMC-2 through investigator-initiated Phase 2 studies at the Bateman Horne Center; Dogwood Therapeutics subsequently succeeded Virios and, in April 2026, licensed global development and commercialization rights for IMC-2 to PRIDCor Therapeutics.
