Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CT-010 is an investigational drug-device combination therapy developed by Cerebral Therapeutics for the treatment of medically refractory epilepsy. It consists of a proprietary aqueous formulation of valproic acid (valproate) delivered directly into the brain's ventricles via a surgically implanted, refillable intracerebroventricular (ICV) infusion system. This approach is designed to bypass the blood-brain barrier, allowing for high therapeutic concentrations in the central nervous system while minimizing systemic exposure and the associated side effects typically seen with oral valproate administration. The therapy is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for patients with focal seizures, particularly those with temporal lobe onset.
