Valsartan + atorvastatin

Valsartan + atorvastatin is a fixed-dose combination of two small molecule drugs used primarily for the management of patients with both hypertension and dyslipidemia. Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, leading to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone secretion, and lower blood pressure[6][8]. Atorvastatin is a statin that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver and lowering LDL cholesterol levels. The combination has been shown to effectively treat primary hypertension, improve vascular endothelial function, reduce inflammation and thrombosis risk (via atorvastatin), and enhance control of nocturnal blood pressure compared to monotherapy[3][5].
