Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuxin is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) medication containing **valsartan** and **hydrochlorothiazide**, developed by **Lunan Better Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.** for the treatment of mild to moderate primary hypertension. Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, resulting in vasodilation and decreased aldosterone production. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that promotes diuresis by inhibiting the sodium-chloride symporter in the distal convoluted tubule of the kidney. This combination therapy is typically utilized when monotherapy with either agent is insufficient to achieve target blood pressure levels, providing a synergistic antihypertensive effect.
