valsartan + indapamide

ValsaInda is a fixed-dose combination (Single Pill) medication developed by Apontis Pharma for the treatment of hypertension. It combines two established antihypertensive agents: valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and indapamide, a thiazide-like diuretic. Valsartan lowers blood pressure by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, resulting in vasodilation and decreased aldosterone production. Indapamide acts on the distal convoluted tubules of the kidney to inhibit sodium reabsorption, thereby increasing water and salt excretion and reducing plasma volume. This combination therapy is intended to simplify treatment regimens and improve patient compliance in individuals whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.
