Overview
A combination of valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and moxonidine, an imidazoline/α-2 receptor agonist. Both medications are used to treat hypertension through different mechanisms. Valsartan blocks angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and reducing blood pressure. Moxonidine acts on imidazoline I1 receptors and α-2 adrenergic receptors in the central nervous system to reduce sympathetic activity and lower blood pressure.
