Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A topical combination product containing a vapocoolant spray (a rapidly evaporating agent that cools the skin) together with the local anesthetics lidocaine and prilocaine. This formulation is designed to provide rapid, temporary anesthesia of the skin by both physical cooling (vapocoolant effect) and pharmacological nerve blockade. Lidocaine and prilocaine are amide-type local anesthetics that work by reversibly blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in neuronal membranes, thereby inhibiting nerve impulse conduction and producing localized numbness. The addition of a vapocoolant enhances onset speed by providing immediate surface cooling, which can further reduce pain sensation before minor procedures such as injections or superficial surgery.
