vardenafil + BAY60-4552

**vardenafil + BAY60-4552** is a combination of two small molecule drugs: vardenafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor; and BAY60-4552, a soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator. The combination is investigated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, especially in cases where response to PDE5 inhibitor monotherapy is insufficient (such as following cavernous nerve injury). Vardenafil increases cyclic GMP (cGMP) concentrations by inhibiting its breakdown, while BAY60-4552 directly stimulates sGC to increase cGMP production independently of nitric oxide. Together, they exert synergistic, additive effects on restoring erectile function after nerve injury and have been found effective in animal models and early clinical studies. BAY60-4552 was developed by Bayer. The main route studied is intravenous or oral administration[1][3][5][6].
