Overview

It is designed to induce robust HPV16-specific T-cell immune responses by delivering antigen directly to antigen-presenting cells (APCs), facilitating priming and activation of cytotoxic T cells to recognize and kill HPV16 antigen-presenting tumor cells. Pembrolizumab is a monoclonal antibody that acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking PD-1 on T cells, preventing its interaction with PD-L1 on tumor cells, thereby restoring anti-tumor immune function. The combination leverages the immune stimulation from VB10.16 with the checkpoint-blocking activity of pembrolizumab, aiming for enhanced tumor control in HPV16-driven malignancies[3].
