Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VB10.NEO + atezolizumab is an investigational combination therapy evaluated for advanced and metastatic solid tumors. VB10.NEO is a personalized DNA-based neoantigen vaccine that targets patient-specific tumor antigens and induces robust CD8+ and CD4+ T cell responses by directing neoantigens to antigen-presenting cells using a proprietary protein unit. It is designed and supplied by Nykode Therapeutics. Atezolizumab is a monoclonal antibody against PD-L1 (programmed death-ligand 1) that inhibits PD-L1-mediated immune suppression, thereby releasing the brake on T cells in the tumor microenvironment. The rationale is that VB10.NEO primes tumor-specific T cells and atezolizumab restores their function, potentially generating clinically meaningful immune responses in a population of patients with limited expected benefit from immunotherapy alone.
