VCAP + AMP + VECP is a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen used as front-line therapy for adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma (ATLL) associated with human T-lymphotropic virus type I. The regimen consists of three alternating components: - VCAP: vincristine, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin (adriamycin), and prednisone - AMP: doxorubicin (adriamycin), ranimustine (MCNU), and prednisone - VECP: vindesine, etoposide, carboplatin, and prednisone The mechanism of action is based on combined cytotoxic activity against malignant T-cells, with each component targeting different cellular pathways primarily through microtubule disruption, DNA alkylation, and inhibition of topoisomerase. The regimen has shown superior outcomes to CHOP in aggressive ATLL in some risk groups, especially in Japan, and is used as an induction therapy.
