VEGFR1-1084 + VEGFR2-169 is a bivalent cancer vaccine developed by Fukushima Medical University for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. It consists of two HLA-A*2402-restricted epitope peptides derived from Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 1 (VEGFR1) and Receptor 2 (VEGFR2). The vaccine is designed to stimulate the immune system to produce cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that specifically target and destroy endothelial cells in the tumor vasculature, thereby inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor growth. In clinical trials, it is typically emulsified with the adjuvant Montanide ISA 51 and administered in combination with chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, to patients with unresectable, recurrent, or metastatic pancreatic cancer.
