The vehicle gel developed by G&E Herbal Biotechnology is an inactive topical formulation used as the placebo control in clinical trials for SR-T100, a solamargine-based treatment for actinic keratosis. This vehicle is designed to be pharmacologically inert, containing the same gel base and excipients as the active product but lacking the steroidal alkaloid glycoside solamargine. In Phase III clinical evaluations for actinic keratosis, the vehicle gel demonstrated a complete clearance rate of approximately 17.14%, compared to 32.4% for the active SR-T100 gel. It is applied topically once daily under an occlusive dressing for a 16-week treatment period to provide a baseline for efficacy and safety comparisons.
