Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vehicle Gel is the inactive, silicone-based topical formulation developed by Novan, Inc. to serve as the placebo control in clinical studies of SB208 (berdazimer sodium). It is specifically designed to mimic the physical characteristics and application profile of the active antifungal gel without containing the nitric oxide-releasing macromolecule. In Phase 2 dose-ranging studies for interdigital tinea pedis, the vehicle gel was applied once daily for 14 days to provide a comparative baseline for evaluating the efficacy and safety of various concentrations of SB208.
