Overview
Venetoclax + Chidamide + Chiglitazar Sodium (VCC) is an investigational three-drug combination regimen being evaluated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (R/R AML). The regimen combines three small-molecule agents with distinct but complementary mechanisms: venetoclax, a selective BCL-2 inhibitor that induces apoptosis; chidamide, an oral histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor that counteracts MCL-1 upregulation and synergizes with venetoclax; and chiglitazar sodium, a pan-PPAR agonist that targets leukemia stem cells (LSCs) by inducing ferroptosis. This combination aims to overcome resistance mechanisms in AML by simultaneously targeting apoptosis, epigenetic regulation, and LSC survival. It is currently being studied in a Phase 2 clinical trial sponsored by The First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University.
