This is a combination of three small molecule drugs: **verinurad** (a selective urate transporter 1 [URAT1/SLC22A12] inhibitor being developed for lowering serum uric acid), **allopurinol** (a xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to reduce uric acid production, approved for gout, hyperuricemia, and related indications), and **rifampicin** (an established antibiotic mainly used to treat tuberculosis, known as a strong inducer of hepatic enzymes and inhibitor of hepatic transporters like OATP1B1/1B3). The combination is used experimentally to evaluate pharmacokinetic interactions, particularly the impact of rifampicin on verinurad and allopurinol exposure, as well as uric acid physiology in healthy subjects. There is no evidence that this three-drug combo is used therapeutically—its usage is confined to clinical pharmacology studies[1][7].
