Overview

VGS-001 + VGS-002 is a combination immunotherapy developed by Vetigenics for the treatment of various solid tumors in dogs. This dual checkpoint blockade therapy consists of two fully canine monoclonal antibodies: VGS-001, which targets the Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte protein 4 (CTLA-4) checkpoint, and VGS-002, which targets the Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) checkpoint. Both antibodies are derived from Vetigenics' proprietary CANIBODY™ technology platform, which utilizes a fully canine single-chain variable fragment (scFv) phage display library to ensure the antibodies are entirely canine in origin, thereby minimizing the risk of immunogenicity. By simultaneously inhibiting the CTLA-4 and PD-1 pathways, the combination therapy aims to synergistically enhance the canine immune system's anti-tumor response. It is currently being evaluated in the CHECKMATE K9 clinical trial for dogs with solid tumors.
