Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a **combination drug** composed of VH3810109, a broadly neutralizing antibody (bNAb), and fostemsavir, a first-in-class attachment inhibitor prodrug. **VH3810109 (also called N6LS or VH109)** is an investigational human monoclonal antibody targeting the CD4-binding site of HIV-1 gp120, preventing the virus from attaching to and entering host CD4+ cells. **Fostemsavir** is a prodrug converted in vivo to temsavir, which binds to gp120 and blocks its interaction with CD4 receptors, also preventing HIV cellular entry. The combination is being explored as part of next-generation antiretroviral regimens to maintain viral suppression and to reduce the need for daily oral therapies. Both agents are developed by ViiV Healthcare, which is majority owned by GSK, with Pfizer and Shionogi as shareholders. The combination is primarily being studied for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults.
