Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of vinblastine, a vinca alkaloid that inhibits mitosis by binding to tubulin, and sirolimus (rapamycin), an mTOR inhibitor. This combination has been studied primarily for pediatric patients with recurrent or refractory solid tumors, including neuroblastoma and CNS tumors. The combination works through both anti-proliferative and anti-angiogenic mechanisms, showing synergistic effects in inhibiting tumor growth, inducing apoptosis, and reducing angiogenesis.
