Overview

Vincristine + bleomycin is a combination of two chemotherapeutic agents: **vincristine**, a vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule formation during mitosis (thus disrupting mitotic spindle assembly and arresting cells in metaphase)[4], and **bleomycin**, a glycopeptide antibiotic that induces DNA strand breaks by creating free radicals after binding to DNA, leading to inhibition of DNA synthesis and apoptosis[2][4]. While this specific two-drug combination is not marketed under a unique brand name, it has been used, especially in combinations with additional chemotherapy agents, for the treatment of various malignancies including lymphomas and germ cell tumors[2][6]. Unlike more established regimens (ABVD, BEACOPP), vincristine + bleomycin has not been described as a standalone, widely used regimen, but the two drugs are frequently co-administered as components in multi-drug protocols[2][6].
