Drug intelligence / Profile preview
vincristine + etoposide + prednisone + doxorubicin (commonly known as the OEPA regimen) is a standard-of-care chemotherapy combination used primarily in the first-line treatment of pediatric and adolescent classical Hodgkin lymphoma. The regimen was specifically designed by European pediatric oncology cooperative groups to provide highly effective tumor control while minimizing long-term toxicities, particularly gonadotoxicity in male patients, by replacing procarbazine with etoposide. It consists of vincristine (a microtubule inhibitor), etoposide (a topoisomerase II inhibitor), prednisone (a glucocorticoid corticosteroid), and doxorubicin (an anthracycline topoisomerase II inhibitor and DNA intercalator). OEPA is typically administered as induction therapy, often followed by consolidation regimens such as COPDAC and response-adapted radiotherapy.
