Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A chemotherapy combination regimen consisting of vinorelbine (a vinca alkaloid), gemcitabine (a nucleoside analog), and carboplatin (a platinum compound). This triple combination is used primarily in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Vinorelbine is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid that works by inhibiting microtubule assembly, thereby preventing cell division. Gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis, and carboplatin is a platinum-based compound that forms DNA adducts, interfering with DNA replication and transcription.
