Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vinorelbine + pembrolizumab is an investigational combination therapy consisting of vinorelbine, a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid chemotherapeutic agent, and pembrolizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) immune checkpoint. Vinorelbine disrupts microtubule formation by binding to tubulin, leading to metaphase arrest and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. Pembrolizumab blocks PD-1 on T-cells, preventing its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2 ligands expressed by tumor cells and thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. This combination is being studied for synergistic effects in cancer treatment, particularly in relapsed or refractory classical Hodgkin lymphoma and other solid tumors[5][6][8][9].
