Vinorelbine + trastuzumab is a combination chemotherapy regimen used primarily for the treatment of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer. Vinorelbine is a small molecule vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule assembly, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the HER2/neu receptor (ERBB2), inhibiting downstream signaling pathways involved in cell proliferation and survival. The combination has demonstrated synergistic antitumor activity in preclinical models and multiple clinical trials have shown it to be effective with manageable toxicity for both metastatic and non-metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer patients[1][2].
