Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Visine Advanced Redness + Irritation Relief is an over-the-counter ophthalmic solution marketed by Kenvue. It is a multi-component eye drop designed to alleviate both dryness and redness. The formula contains three lubricants—dextran 70 (0.1%), polyethylene glycol 400 (1%), and povidone (1%)—to moisturize, soothe, and protect the eye surface. These are combined with tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride (0.05%), a small molecule vasoconstrictor that acts as an alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist to reduce redness by constricting blood vessels in the conjunctiva. It is indicated for the relief of eye redness due to minor irritations, protection against further irritation, and the relief of dry eyes.
