Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination dietary supplement containing four active ingredients: - **Vitamin B12** (cobalamin): An essential water-soluble vitamin involved in DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, and neurological function. It acts as a cofactor for methionine synthase and methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, supporting one-carbon metabolism and myelin synthesis. - **Folinic acid** (5-formyltetrahydrofolate): A reduced form of folic acid that bypasses some metabolic steps required by folic acid. It participates in the one-carbon cycle, supporting DNA synthesis and repair. - **Omega 3 fatty acids** (such as EPA/DHA): Polyunsaturated fatty acids with anti-inflammatory properties that are important for cardiovascular health, brain development, and reducing oxidative stress. - **N-acetyl cysteine (NAC)**: A precursor to glutathione with antioxidant properties; it helps reduce oxidative stress and supports detoxification. The combination is designed to support methylation pathways, reduce homocysteine levels, provide antioxidant effects, improve cognitive function or memory disorders associated with hyperhomocysteinemia or oxidative stress states[1][2]. There is evidence from animal studies that combined supplementation of vitamin B12, folinic/folic acid, and omega 3 can lower blood pressure and markers of oxidative stress in models of preeclampsia[2]. NAC has been studied for its ability to lower homocysteine levels when used alongside B vitamins[1][5].
