Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vitamin B6 + magnesium is a combination supplement containing pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and magnesium, commonly used to address deficiencies in either or both nutrients. Vitamin B6 acts as a cofactor that enhances the absorption of magnesium in the intestines and cells, while magnesium is essential for numerous enzymatic reactions, nerve function, muscle relaxation, and energy metabolism. The combination is synergistic: vitamin B6 improves the bioavailability of magnesium, and together they support nervous system health, reduce stress and fatigue, improve sleep quality, regulate muscle contraction/relaxation, strengthen immune function, and may help with mood regulation[1][2][5][6]. Clinical studies have shown benefits for stress reduction in individuals with low magnesemia[1], potential improvement in depressive/anxiety symptoms[8], but evidence for use in autism spectrum disorder remains inconclusive due to limited data[3]. This combination is widely available as an over-the-counter dietary supplement.
