The vitrification & thawing kit-Benha University is a laboratory-prepared (home-made) set of media developed for the cryopreservation and subsequent warming of human blastocysts. The kit consists of vitrification media formulated according to the Shady Grove protocol and thawing (warming) media prepared according to the Kuwayama protocol. These media contain cryoprotectants and osmotic agents designed to protect Day 5/6 human embryos from ice crystal formation during ultra-rapid cooling and to ensure safe rehydration during the thawing process. It is used in assisted reproductive technology (ART) to maintain embryo viability, re-expansion, and implantation potential in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF).
