Overview
ViviGen is a cellular bone matrix (cellular allograft) developed by LifeNet Health and distributed by DePuy Synthes. It is designed to provide a comprehensive solution for bone repair by delivering the three essential components of bone formation: osteoconduction, osteoinduction, and osteogenicity. Unlike traditional allografts, ViviGen contains cryopreserved, viable, lineage-committed bone cells (osteoblasts, osteocytes, and bone lining cells) within a corticocancellous bone scaffold and demineralized bone matrix. This composition allows it to mimic the properties of an autograft, which is considered the gold standard in bone grafting. It is primarily indicated for use in orthopedic and spine fusion procedures, such as lumbar and cervical fusion, as well as for the treatment of non-union fractures and traumatic bone defects.
