Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VLP Alzheimer's is a preclinical virus-like particle (VLP)-based conjugate vaccine being developed by Saiba Biotech for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The vaccine utilizes Saiba's proprietary VLP platform to display Alzheimer-associated antigens, such as amyloid-beta or tau proteins, in a highly repetitive array. This structure is designed to overcome self-tolerance and trigger a robust and specific antibody response against these pathological proteins, potentially clearing plaques or tangles associated with neurodegeneration. The program is currently in the preclinical stage and involves collaborations with several academic and research institutions, including the University of Zurich, University of Oxford, ETH Zurich, University of Dundee, CHUV, The Jenner Institute, and A*STAR Singapore.
