VLX-1005 + argatroban is an investigational combination of two drugs, each with distinct but complementary mechanisms, under study for the treatment and prevention of **heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT)** and related thrombotic disorders. **VLX-1005** is a novel, potent, and selective small molecule **inhibitor of 12-lipoxygenase (12-LOX)** developed by Veralox Therapeutics, targeting the production of 12-HETE and modulating **Fc gamma receptor IIa (CD32a)–mediated platelet activation and aggregation**[1][3][5]. **Argatroban** is an FDA-approved small molecule **direct thrombin inhibitor** (DTI) that acts as an anticoagulant, indicated for treatment and prophylaxis of thrombosis in patients with HIT[2][4][6].
