Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination therapy consists of vonoprazan, amoxicillin, and Huazhi Rougan Granule. Vonoprazan is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that inhibits gastric acid secretion by competitively blocking the potassium-binding site of the H+,K+-ATPase enzyme. Amoxicillin is a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Huazhi Rougan Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation used to treat metabolic-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), specifically targeting the dampness-heat accumulation syndrome. The combination is being evaluated by Nanjing First Hospital and Nanjing Medical University for its synergistic efficacy in eradicating Helicobacter pylori infection in patients who also suffer from MASH, aiming to improve both infection clearance and liver health.
