Overview

VP-002 is an orally administered small molecule antagonist of the C-C chemokine receptor type 1 (CCR1) being developed by Varsity Pharmaceuticals, a sister company of Cycle Pharmaceuticals. The drug is designed to treat pancreatic cancer by blocking the CCR1 protein, which is involved in the recruitment of cells that support tumor growth and immune evasion. By inhibiting this pathway, VP-002 aims to slow cancer progression and enhance the effectiveness of standard-of-care treatments. It is currently being investigated in the CRISTAL-APC clinical trial in combination with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.
