Warfarin + albiglutide is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used for different indications. Warfarin is an oral anticoagulant that acts as a vitamin K antagonist by inhibiting the enzyme vitamin K epoxide reductase complex subunit 1, thereby reducing the synthesis of active clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X as well as proteins C and S. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disorders[6]. Albiglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control. It consists of modified human GLP-1 fused to recombinant human albumin, which extends its half-life and allows once-weekly subcutaneous administration[4][8]. Albiglutide increases insulin secretion in response to high blood glucose levels and slows gastric emptying but does not significantly cross the blood-brain barrier[8]. No clinically relevant pharmacokinetic interaction has been observed between these two drugs; however, caution may be warranted due to potential minor interactions or effects on drug absorption related to delayed gastric emptying from albiglutide[5][8].
