Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**WH30+** is a multi-herb Chinese herbal medicine preparation investigated preclinically for renal protection. It contains *Cordyceps sinensis*, *Codonopsis pilosula*, *Epimedium macranthum*, *Leonurus sibiricus*, *Rheum palmatum*, *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, and *Astragalus* root. In glycerol-induced acute renal failure and adenine-induced chronic renal failure models in male Wistar rats, prophylactic WH30+ administration was associated with modest improvements in serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen; creatinine clearance was significantly improved in the acute renal failure model. Its molecular targets and direct mechanism of action have not been established. ([europepmc.org](https://europepmc.org/article/MED/16047565))
