This vaccination regimen involves the sequential administration of wild-type inactivated poliovirus vaccine (wIPV) and Sabin-strain inactivated poliovirus vaccine (sIPV). Developed and evaluated by Sinovac Biotech, this approach is designed for the prevention of poliomyelitis in infants. wIPV is derived from wild-type poliovirus strains (Mahoney, MEF-1, and Saukett), while sIPV is derived from attenuated Sabin strains.
