Withalongolide O 4,7-diacetate is a semisynthetic withanolide derivative synthesized from withalongolide O, a natural product isolated from Physalis longifolia. It is chemically identified as the 4,7-diacetate derivative of 27-deoxy-7β-hydroxy-withaferin A. This small molecule has demonstrated potent antiproliferative and cytotoxic activity in vitro against various cancer cell lines, including human head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (JMAR and MDA-1986) and melanoma (B16F10 and SKMEL-28), with IC50 values reported as low as 0.067 nM.
