Overview

WJB001 + paclitaxel + carboplatin + JS207 is a combination therapy regimen being developed by Wigen Biomedicine Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Junshi Biosciences. This regimen consists of WJB001, an oral small molecule inhibitor of WEE1 G2 checkpoint kinase; JS207, a recombinant humanized bispecific monoclonal antibody targeting Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF); and the standard chemotherapy agents paclitaxel and carboplatin. WJB001 works by inhibiting WEE1, which prevents the repair of DNA damage before cells enter mitosis, leading to mitotic catastrophe and apoptosis, particularly in TP53-deficient cancer cells. JS207 provides dual blockade of the PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint to restore T-cell activity and the VEGF pathway to inhibit tumor angiogenesis. The addition of paclitaxel (a microtubule stabilizer) and carboplatin (a DNA alkylating agent) provides synergistic cytotoxic effects. This combination is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials for advanced solid tumors, including high-grade serous ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, peritoneal cancer, and uterine serous carcinoma.
